A 23-day-old child lady was on Wednesday rescued from a pair to whom she was allegedly handed over by her dad and mom at Hrishyamukh in South Tripura district 5 days in the past, officers stated.

Shambhu Malakar, a resident of Haripur in Hrishyamukh, gave the infant to Gourango Shil, when she was 18 days outdated allegedly due to poverty.
After receiving details about the incident, a workforce comprising Deputy Collector and Justice of the Peace Sukanta Dey, the block growth officer, and Youngster Line members went to Gourango Shil’s residence and rescued the infant.
