27.5% salary hike for government employees from August 1: Siddaramaiah | Latest News India

The Karnataka authorities has authorized a major wage improve for its staff, implementing the suggestions of the seventh Pay Fee, officers aware of the matter stated.

Throughout a cupboard assembly chaired by chief minister Siddaramaiah on Monday, it was introduced that authorities staff will obtain a 27.5% wage improve beginning August 1. The seventh state Pay Fee constituted on November 19, 2022, was tasked with addressing the calls for for the revision of pay, allowances, and pensions of state authorities staff, an official stated. The fee submitted its report on March 24, 2024.

“As per the Pay Fee’s suggestions, the Cupboard assembly on July 15, 2024, determined to revise the wage and pensions by including a 31% Dearness Allowance and a fitment of 27.5% to the fundamental pay as of July 1, 2022. This revision will lead to a considerable improve of 58.5% within the primary wage and pension of the workers. Moreover, the home hire allowance will see a 32% improve,” learn a communication from the officer of the CM.

The minimal primary pay of staff will rise from ₹17,000 to ₹27,000, whereas the utmost pay will probably be revised from ₹1,50,600 to ₹2,41,200. The minimal pension will improve from ₹8,500 to ₹13,500, and the utmost pension will probably be revised from ₹75,300 to ₹1,20,600.

This revision will apply to non-teaching workers of universities, staff of aided academic establishments, and native our bodies.

“This wage revision will incur an extra expenditure of ₹20,208 crore each year, and vital budgetary provisions have been made within the price range of 2024-25,” said Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. The wage improve goals to spice up morale and productiveness, probably resulting in extra environment friendly public providers.

The approval comes after the Karnataka state authorities staff affiliation threatened an indefinite strike beginning in August if the wage improve was not applied. In March 2023, then-chief minister Basavaraj Bommai had granted staff an interim 17% wage hike.
