A magnitude 5.6 earthquake struck the northern Philippines on Wednesday, the German Analysis Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) stated, as authorities warned of harm and aftershock from the tremor.
The quake was at a depth of 10 km (6.2 miles), GFZ stated.
Philippine seismology company PHIVOLCS stated the quake struck the northern city of Bangui in Ilocos province and warned of aftershocks and harm from the quake.
There have been no fast reviews of harm from the tremor.
Earthquakes are frequent within the Philippines, which lies on the “Ring of Fireplace”, a belt of volcanoes circling the Pacific Ocean that’s vulnerable to seismic exercise.
