Six individuals have been arrested for allegedly kidnapping and raping a minor lady in Jharkhand’s Gumla district, police mentioned Tuesday.
On Saturday, the accused, aged between 18 and 24 years, had come to attend a marriage in a village.
They have been part of the marriage procession that had arrived from Simdega district.
Police mentioned the minor, together with three different ladies attending the marriage, went out to alleviate herself when six males approached and began to molest them.
“Three ladies managed to flee, however the males took one minor lady into the forest and gangraped her. After the lady was unconscious they threw her right into a bush within the forest,” mentioned the SP, Gumla, Shambhu Kumar Singh.
After an FIR was registered by the sufferer’s father on Sunday, the police searched varied areas and arrested all six accused on Monday. They have been remanded in judicial custody.
The arrested accused have been recognized as Surendra Nagesia, Vimal Kumar and Sanju Ram from the Sursang police station space of Gumla district, and Arpan Roshan Soreng, Dinesh Tirkey alias Nitin and Amardeep Kullu, residents of the Pakartand police station space of Simdega district.

The lady has undergone a medical examination and the arrested males have confessed to their crime, police mentioned.
