Eight individuals are lifeless, together with six Chinese language nationals, after a ship sank in waters off the coast of Japan, a Chinese language diplomat informed state media Thursday.
The Jin Tian despatched a misery sign on Tuesday night from a place round 110 kilometres (68 miles) west of the distant and uninhabited Danjo Islands in far southwestern Japan.
A number of vessels and plane from Japan’s coast guard and navy, in addition to the South Korean coast guard and personal ships, have been concerned within the search operation and retrieved 13 crew.
China’s Consul Basic within the metropolis of Fukuoka, Lu Guijun, informed state broadcaster CGTN that of the 13 folks discovered, “eight have been confirmed lifeless, of whom six are Chinese language”.
“5 of them — together with 4 Chinese language crew members — should not in life-threatening situations,” he added.
“We specific our deepest condolences to the unlucky victims.”
Japanese authorities are but to substantiate the toll given by the Chinese language diplomat, telling AFP Thursday they might solely say that 9 stay lacking and, of the 13 retrieved, two are lifeless.
