Karnataka college training minister B C Nagesh has triggered a recent controversy by indicating that over 7,500 new school rooms being constructed below the Viveka scheme within the state shall be painted saffron.

Talking at an occasion within the north Karnataka district of Gadag on Sunday, the BJP minister mentioned school rooms constructed below the Viveka scheme shall be uniform in nature. “The brand new Viveka school rooms shall be saffron in color as per the suggestion of architects and never in keeping with any ideology,” mentioned Nagesh who has been on the forefront of controversies in reference to the alleged saffronisation of faculty textbooks and alleged overreach when it comes to prescribing uniforms following an argument over using hijabs in a couple of state faculties.

The most recent transfer has been criticised by some educationists and the Opposition who’ve identified that it’s inappropriate for secular establishments like a authorities college classroom. Educationist Niranjanaradhya V P has termed it a “new type of saffronisation of training”.

Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai dismissed questions on the color scheme for the brand new school rooms as pointless controversy. “The tendency to politicise each challenge goes to an excessive. The saffron color is part of the nationwide flag. We can not perceive why folks get affected in the event that they see the saffron color. We’re constructing school rooms and dedicating them to Swami Vivekananda who was a sage who wore saffron garments. So, what’s mistaken,” the chief minister requested.

Bommai will on Monday lay the muse stone for the development of seven,601 Viveka school rooms in Kalaburagi as a part of Kids’s Day celebrations. Development of school rooms below the division for varsity training and literacy shall be inaugurated in all districts by native ministers, MLAs and others through the day.
