Woman in SUV pulls gun, fatally shot by Westminster Officer N. Adams

Westminster police on Friday launched an officer’s physique digicam video from a deadly police taking pictures.

On July 25, Officer N. Adams, on routine patrol, contacted a girl driving a silver SUV that was stopped within the east flip lane on West 88th Avenue, close to Lamar Road, in line with Westminster Police Division information launch. The SUV was dealing with westbound, within the fallacious route.

At first, the lady didn’t roll down her window when Adams approached the SUV, physique digicam footage reveals. When she did roll down the window, the lady was unresponsive to Adams’ questions.

Within the video, two pictures could be heard as Adams backs away from the SUV, then Adams fires two pictures, the primary breaking a window within the SUV.

The lady was taken to a hospital the place she was pronounced lifeless, police mentioned in an earlier launch.

An investigation into the taking pictures, by the seventeenth Judicial Vital Incident Response Crew, made up of investigators from regulation enforcement businesses in Adams and Broomfield counties, is ongoing. Adams is on paid administrative depart – per division coverage.

Police launched the video Friday to assist “present a greater understanding of what occurred” and to “construct belief with our group by demonstrating transparency and accountability.”
