18 arrested for dancing with swords during Milad-un-Nabi rally, say Police | Bengaluru

Police on Tuesday mentioned they’ve arrested 18 youths dancing with swords of their fingers and enjoying aloud a speech of All-India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen chief Akbaruddin Owaisi on the event of Eid Milad-un-Nabi.

The Siddapura police within the metropolis registered a case by itself after the video went viral displaying the youths brandishing swords and machetes.

“On the night of October 9, some folks have been dancing holding knives and machetes. Accordingly, a case was guide in opposition to them underneath the arms act. There have been round 20 to 25 folks arrested: Out of them we secured 18 of whom 13 have been minor,” deputy commissioner of police of south division P Krishnakant instructed reporters.

He added that the minors could be handled as per the Juvenile Justice Act whereas the others would face prosecution as per the Indian Penal Code.

Based on the DCP, these folks, after a procession, went to an inside space the place they danced.

Krishnakant mentioned he would study whether or not slogans like ‘Sar Tan Se Juda’ the place raised.

The officer mentioned this was not the primary time circumstances have been booked.

Earlier additionally throughout the Ganesha procession, motion was taken when comparable incidents have been reported.
