Storm dumps 3 feet of snow on 7 Colorado ski resorts

Large quantities of snow have pounded the Colorado excessive nation since Wednesday with seven ski resorts receiving three toes or extra — and snow continued to fall Monday morning.

From Wednesday via Monday morning, Monarch led the best way with 50 inches. Steamboat was shut behind at 48 and Crested Butte at 46. Winter Park obtained 42, Eldora 40, Wolf Creek 39, Copper Mountain 37 and Vail 35.

Resorts recording 24 to 32 inches included Arapahoe Basin, Breckenridge, Beaver Creek, Aspen Highlands, Loveland, Cooper, Powderhorn and Keystone.

Many mountain roads had been closed this morning as a result of hostile circumstances and security considerations, together with Silverthorne to the Eisenhower-Johnson tunnels, Vail Go from Copper Mountain to Vail, Loveland Go, Berthoud Go, Steamboat to Kremmling together with Rabbit Ears Go and Rabbit Ears to Cameron Go.

Regardless of the ample snow of the previous week, most resorts nonetheless have below-normal base depths. Solely Vail, Monarch, Crested Butte and Beaver Creek are regular or above. Winter Park and Steamboat are close to regular. Eight resorts are at 80-89% of regular and 9 are beneath 80%.

Tuesday might be dry and partly cloudy within the mountains, in line with OpenSnow founding meteorologist Joel Gratz, with 2-12 inches of snow due for the northern mountains on Wednesday and Thursday. One other storm could arrive on Sunday.
