Protesters have pelted snowballs at riot police in clashes in Russia after a rights activist was sentenced to 4 years in a penal colony.
Dozens of individuals had been detained and injured with one protester struggling a “smashed head”, says monitoring group OVD-Information.
Crowds gathered outdoors a courtroom in Bashkortostan to assist native activist Fail Alsynov, with officers firing tear gasoline on the crowd.
Some studies say there are just a few thousand folks on the protest, which has been occurring for a number of days in freezing temperatures of round -20C.
Alsynov was jailed for inciting ethnic hatred, which he denies.
