China’s coast guard has fired water at a Philippine boat within the disputed territory of the South China Sea.
Earlier, the Philippines accused China of “harmful manoeuvres” after their coast guard vessels collided within the space on Tuesday.
The Philippine Coast Guard stated it was close to the Second Thomas Shoal – identified in Chinese language because the Ren’ai Jiao – when the incident occurred.
In a publish on Twitter, a Philippines official stated its vessel suffered “minor structural injury”.
He shared footage exhibiting the vessels hitting then scraping in opposition to one another.
Chinese language state media reported that the China Coast Guard “lawfully took measures in opposition to a Philippines vessel”.
