“These statements create a grossly deceptive impression in regards to the intentions and conduct of federal regulation enforcement brokers — falsely suggesting that they have been complicit in a plot to assassinate him — and expose these brokers, a few of whom will probably be witnesses at trial, to the chance of threats, violence, and harassment,” prosecutors acknowledged in courtroom papers filed on Friday, per the Related Press.
“Trump’s repeated mischaracterization of those details in extensively distributed messages as an try to kill him, his household, and Secret Service brokers has endangered regulation enforcement officers concerned within the investigation and prosecution of this case and threatened the integrity of those continuing.”
