Six arrested for throwing beer bottles into mosque: Police | Latest News India

Six individuals have been arrested and a minor has been detained for allegedly hurling beer bottles into the Firdosi Masjid in Sirawara city, Raichur district, a police officer mentioned.

The officer mentioned that the incident passed off on Tuesday night time behind the city’s bus stand. Following the incident, the police arrested six individuals and detained a minor. The arrested individuals are NB Sagar (23), R Basava (24), KN Vijay (25), BR Ranganath (25), NS Suresh (22), BK Sabaiah (22). All are reported to be residents of Sirawara.

Sirawara police inspector B Guruchandra mentioned: “The incident occurred at round 8:30 pm. A bunch of seven-eight individuals consumed alcohol close to the mosque and threw the bottles inside with none motive. We obtained a telephone name from the mosque instantly after the incident and rushed to the spot. Although the perpetrators fled the scene, we have been in a position to apprehend them quickly after.”

“We’ve got arrested the six accused and booked them below BNS part 193 (Selling enmity between totally different teams on floor of faith, race) 351(2) (punishment for felony intimidation). They have been produced earlier than the JMFC court docket on Wednesday, which remanded all of the accused to 14 days of judicial custody,” he added.

The breaking of beer bottles contained in the mosque and the injury to the mosque’s Darpa, a raised platform used for prayer and sermons, incensed the native Muslim group.

In response, tons of of group members gathered on the mosque, demanding speedy motion towards the culprits.

Upon receiving stories of the incident, the regulation enforcement officers engaged in discussions with native Muslim leaders to handle the group’s grievances and to stop the escalation of the protest.

Throughout the discussions, cops assured the group leaders that these accountable can be dropped at justice at once.

Mohammed Siraj, a mosque committee member, expressed aid on the police’s fast response and mentioned: “The well timed intervention and arrest of the accused defused the strain within the space.”
