Todd’s heat persona and dedication to his craft endeared him to colleagues and followers alike.
Rel Dowdell, the director of Movie Research at Hampton College who directed him in 2012’s Altering the Sport, launched an announcement and mentioned: “Tony was a masterful actor who was actually chameleonic; he ready for each function with the utmost meticulousness. He was actually one in all a sort.”
Virginia Madsen, Todd’s co-star within the first Candyman film, mourned the actor’s dying in a video posted on her Instagram account.
She mentioned: “My beloved. Could you relaxation in energy candy to the candy in heaven. The nice actor Tony Todd has left us and now could be an angel. As he was in life. Extra later however I am unable to proper now. I like you.”
Within the video, she referred to Todd as “my beloved Candyman” and thanked followers for his or her “form needs”.
Todd is survived by his spouse, Fatima, and their two youngsters, Alex and Ariana.
