West Indies’ legendary all-rounder Kieron Pollard is stunned and disillusioned with the group’s early exit from the T20 World Cup and stated all of the stakeholders should share the blame.

Two-time champions West Indies didn’t qualify for the Tremendous 12 stage of the T20 showpiece in Australia after struggling defeats to Scotland and Eire within the first spherical.

“A bit stunned, to be trustworthy that (West Indies) weren’t in a position to recover from the road in opposition to the opposite groups,” Pollard advised i95.5fm, a Trinidad-based radio station.

“However once more, that speaks volumes of the place our cricket as is in the meanwhile. I really feel it. I really feel it for the fellows as a result of they’re those which are going to get the bashing. And it’s not all their fault.” The elimination attracted reactions from throughout the cricketing world.

Cricket West Indies president Ricky Skerritt issued a scathing assertion, saying a “autopsy” can be carried out instantly.

Australian legend Ricky Ponting has referred to as the once-formidable West Indies’ early exit from the match a “shame”.

Pollard stated, “We now have a younger captain, now we have younger gamers, guys who would have performed solely a handful of (matches in) T20 cricket and now they’re within the World Cup.

“And once I look again at it, I sit again and I’ve a smile on my face. As a result of I bear in mind among the issues that was stated final yr round this time, when some people weren’t chosen.

“I simply needed to remind these people who there was a World Cup we have been going to (in 2021) and one other bilateral collection (in New Zealand). And now among the people get the chance to play within the World Cup. And, once more, look what has occurred. It’s no fault of theirs,” he stated.

“However after we tried to form of defend them and let individuals perceive (in 2021), they weren’t prepared for that, we have been lambasted. There have been lots of issues that have been stated that have been very derogatory at instances. It’s a tragic day for West Indies cricket and all of us.”
