Karnataka: Slain Bajrang Dal activist’s sister among those booked for vandalising car in Shivamogga

Karnataka Police booked slain Bajrang Dal activist Harsha Nagaraj’s sister Ashwini and 10-15 others Sunday on prices of rioting for vandalising a automobile in Shivamogga city, officers mentioned.

The case was registered after Syed Faveez, 49, a trainer and resident of Shivamogga approached the police alleging that his automobile, parked in entrance of his home, was vandalised.

In keeping with police sources, on Saturday, an occasion known as ‘Savarkar Samrajya (Savarkar empire)’ was held in Shivamogga city and a motorcycle rally was additionally organised from Ameer Ahmed circle to Kallappana Keri. Because the rally handed Syed’s residence, the contributors stopped and shouted ‘Jai Shri Ram’ slogans and allegedly vandalised the automobile.

Doddapet police have booked a case below sections 143 (illegal meeting), 147 (rioting), 427 (mischief inflicting injury) and 149 (member of illegal meeting responsible of offence dedicated in prosecution of widespread object) of the Indian Penal Code.

Bajrang Dal activist Harsha Nagaraj alias Harsha Hindu was murdered on the night time of February 20 throughout the limits of Doddapet police station in Shivamogga after he left house to have dinner with associates at a restaurant. The state police arrested greater than 10 individuals within the case and the probe was later handed over to the Nationwide Investigation Company (NIA).
