(Reuters) -Intel’s promised $28 billion chip fabrication crops in Ohio are dealing with additional delays, with the primary manufacturing unit in New Albany now anticipated to be accomplished solely by 2030, the struggling chipmaker stated on Friday.

The primary manufacturing unit will start operations someday shortly thereafter, between 2030 and 2031, the corporate stated, extending its unique timeline by a minimum of half a decade.

Intel has been reducing capital bills after its costly bid to develop into a contract chip producer for different corporations, in a transfer to revive its misplaced glory, strained its stability sheet.
