US Woman Accused Of Starting Massive 2,059 Acre Wildfire In Myrtle Beach Area

Alexandra Bialousow, 40, of Myrtle Seashore, South Carolina, has been arrested after allegedly beginning a 2,059-acre wildfire. Studies point out the fireplace began from a yard fireplace pit and unfold quickly. She is charged with endangering quite a few lives and houses, NBC reported. 

Bialousow was arrested Thursday on costs of negligently permitting a hearth to unfold and igniting a hearth in woodlands, grasslands, or different areas with out correct precautions, in line with the South Carolina Forestry Fee.

Witnesses reported seeing her begin a hearth on Sunday in a yard fireplace pit close to a tree line within the Covington Lakes Subdivision. The arrest warrant states that she “didn’t have an applicable water supply available” or any backyard instruments to regulate the flames, permitting the fireplace to unfold to land owned by the Walker Woods HOA.

That fireside escalated into the still-active Covington Drive Hearth close to Myrtle Seashore, one of many largest among the many 175-plus wildfires which have burned throughout the state up to now week, officers stated.

As of Saturday afternoon, the fireplace was 55% contained. No main accidents have been reported.

Abnormally dry circumstances have fueled wildfires throughout South Carolina, burning over 4,000 acres and prompting evacuations. In response, Gov. Henry McMaster declared a state of emergency Sunday, sustaining a statewide burning ban. “Those that violate this ban will probably be topic to legal prosecution,” he stated.

Bialousow is scheduled to seem in Horry County courtroom on April 15. If convicted, she faces as much as 30 days in jail or fines for every cost. Neither she nor the Myrtle Seashore Police Division instantly responded to requests for remark.
