MILAN (Reuters) -Poste Italiane has agreed to purchase the majority of Vivendi’s stake in Telecom Italia to switch the French group as the principle investor within the cellphone group with a 24.8% holding, Poste mentioned on Saturday.

Confirming what sources had earlier advised Reuters, Poste mentioned it was shopping for a 15% stake in TIM from Vivendi, which had lately lowered its holding to 18.4%.

Poste mentioned it could use out there money to fund the 684 million euro ($741 million) funding, shopping for shares in TIM at 0.2975 euros every.

That compares with a closing value for TIM on Friday of 0.3126, equal to a 4.8% low cost.
