From diesel to milk to tolls, here’s all that is getting costlier in Karnataka from this month on | Bangalore News

Karnataka residents are gearing up for a sequence of worth hikes throughout important items and companies beginning April 1. From milk and electrical energy to water, waste administration, and transport, these will increase—pushed by rising operational prices—are set to pressure family budgets, with Bengaluru residents feeling a very sharp affect.

Karnataka on Tuesday elevated its diesel charges. The state authorities has raised the gross sales tax on diesel from 18.44 per cent to 21.17 per cent, leading to a worth hike of roughly Rs 2 per litre. Electrical energy tariffs

Rubbish price

The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has launched a stable waste administration price, bundled with property tax, to reinforce waste assortment and disposal. Charges differ by property dimension:

– As much as 600 sq ft: Rs 10/month
– 600–1,000 sq ft: Rs 50/month
– 2,000–3,000 sq ft: Rs 150/month
– 3,000–4,000 sq ft: Rs 200/month
– Above 4,000 sq ft: Rs 400/month

New vehicles are costlier, with Maruti Suzuki elevating costs by 4 per cent, and Hyundai, Mahindra, and Kia by 2 per cent. Imported vehicles face greater taxes, additional driving up prices.

Medication prices

Costs for medicines treating infections, diabetes, and different situations are up by 1.47 per cent, affecting healthcare budgets.

Banking and cigarette prices rise

Banks like SBI are growing minimal stability necessities for financial savings accounts. A 16 per cent tax hike on cigarettes is making them costlier.

Amid these hikes and the controversy over reservations for Muslims, the Opposition BJP is ready to launch its Janakrosha Yatra from Chief Minister Siddaramiah’s residence district on April 7.

Union minister and JD(S) chief H D Kumaraswamy lashed out on the Congress authorities. “A Lie a Day! A Value Hike Each Month!!
