Second airport for Bengaluru: AAI team inspects two sites off Kanakapura Road | Bangalore News

The Airports Authority of India (AAI) inspected two potential websites for Bengaluru’s proposed second airport on Tuesday. The visits to the 2 areas off Kanakapura Highway got here as a part of an ongoing analysis of three shortlisted websites.

Patil stated the ultimate determination on the airport’s location can be guided by Bengaluru’s particular necessities and based mostly on the AAI’s forthcoming report and suggestions.

Two of the shortlisted areas are close to Chudahalli and Somanahall—each in Bengaluru South taluk in Bengaluru City district—and the third is close to Magadi-Nelamangala in Ramanagara district.

The Karnataka State Industrial and Infrastructure Growth Company, the nodal company for the challenge, has paid Rs 1.21 crore to the AAI for the feasibility research, which is able to take a number of technical and environmental components under consideration.

The state authorities has ready intensive documentation to help the AAI staff, together with income maps of the shortlisted websites, 10 years’ value of meteorological knowledge, detailed geographic assessments, photographs of the terrain, Survey of India maps, and operational feasibility experiences overlaying each visible flight guidelines (VFR) and instrument flight guidelines (IFR).
