2 Karnataka officials arrested for demanding bribe of Rs 30,000 for minor e-khata correction | Bangalore News

Karnataka’s Lokayukta police have arrested a panchayat improvement officer (PDO) and one other authorities official for demanding a bribe of Rs 30,000 to make a minor correction in an digital property certificates.

The arrested accused—PDO Mohammed Ali and secretary Suresh P H—labored within the Kambadal Hosuru grama panchayat in Bhadravathi taluk of Shivamogga district, Lokayukta officers stated on Wednesday.

Divakar filed a grievance earlier than the Lokayukta police, which then laid a entice and Suresh was allegedly caught red-handed whereas accepting a bribe of Rs 15,000. Ali was subsequently arrested.

Unwilling to pay the bribe, Pavan filed a grievance with the police, which arrested Krishnappa whereas he was allegedly accepting the bribe.

An officer stated that Krishnappa had retired as a chief engineer however sought an extension.
