Within the wake of violent protests in opposition to the newly enacted Waqf Act in West Bengal, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday urged individuals to take care of peace and mentioned that each physique has the precise to reveal peacefully, however none ought to take the regulation into their fingers.

“Everyone has the democratic proper to stage a peaceable protest with permission. I’ll request individuals to not take the regulation into their very own fingers. To guard the regulation, we’ve got custodians and don’t want any demon,” the chief minister mentioned after inaugurating Kalighat skywalk.

With out naming any political organisation, the TMC chief mentioned, “If I am going to another programme, they’ll change my title. Faith means respect, humanity, peace, tradition, and concord. Stating that the brand new Waqf regulation was introduced in by the BJP authorities on the Centre, the chief minister mentioned solutions needs to be sought from the Central authorities.

“We didn’t enact the regulation that many individuals have been protesting in opposition to it. The regulation was made by the Central authorities. So, the solutions needs to be sought from the central authorities,” the TMC supremo acknowledged.
