Backcountry skier injured in avalanche near Breckenridge

A backcountry skier was caught and injured in an avalanche close to Breckenridge Ski Resort on Saturday, the sixth slide reported by Colorado recreationists this month.

The person was in a gaggle of 4 skiers who left the resort on the Peak 6 backcountry entry level simply earlier than midday, based on the Colorado Avalanche Data Heart.

The group was planning to ski the Okay Chute of the Sky Chutes, that are steep avalanche paths on the west facet of the Tenmile Vary.

After the person triggered the avalanche, he was swept down the trail for about 1,100 toes and misplaced his skis, based on an accident report from the CAIC.
