Anderson, who was born in Pennsylvania, stated she has “no thought” how she ended up on the division’s radar.

“The language appeared fairly threatening to whomever it would really apply to,” Anderson advised NBC Connecticut.

The emails have been going out to non-U.S. residents who entered the nation utilizing the CBP One cellular app. It’s a part of President Donald Trump’s mass deportation push, which has additionally focused individuals who entered the nation legally.

Anderson isn’t the one U.S. citizen to obtain the e-mail. Nicole Micheroni, a Massachusetts-born immigration lawyer, stated she obtained the identical e-mail on Friday.

“Don’t try to stay in the US — the federal authorities will discover you,” warns the e-mail, which Micheroni posted to Bluesky.

The e-mail stated Micheroni had simply seven days to depart the U.S.

“I’ve been right here my entire life,” Micheroni advised native Boston station WCVB.

A senior DHS official advised JHB on Monday that Micheroni could have been contacted by mistake as a result of a non-U.S. citizen used her e-mail as their very own.

“CBP used the recognized e-mail addresses of the alien to ship notifications. If a non-personal e-mail — similar to an American citizen contact — was offered by the alien, notices could have been despatched to unintended recipients. CBP is monitoring communications and can tackle any points on a case-by-case foundation,” the official stated.
