3 coaches for Bengaluru Metro’s Electronic City corridor shipped from West Bengal, more to follow | Bangalore News

Bengaluru Metro Wednesday stated three Metro vehicles for the third trainset of Namma Metro’s Yellow Line had been dispatched from Titagarh Rail Techniques’s manufacturing facility in West Bengal’s Uttarpara Tuesday. The remaining three coaches for the third trainset are scheduled to be loaded and transported to Bengaluru by Could 2 and are anticipated to reach within the metropolis between Could 10 and Could 15, in keeping with BMRCL officers.

BMRCL attributed the partial cargo of the third practice set to logistical challenges, particularly the non-availability of specialised transport trailers required to hold the outsized metro vehicles.

A BMRCL spokesperson instructed The Indian Specific, “Because of the restricted availability of trailers, solely three vehicles could possibly be dispatched initially. The remaining three shall be loaded and transported by tomorrow (Friday) as we safe further trailers.”

Crucial checks will observe the dispatch of the third trainset earlier than it comes up for inspection by the Commissioner of Metro Railway Security (CMRS).

The Yellow Line of Bengaluru Metro is 9.15 km lengthy and connects RV Street to Bommasandra by way of Digital Metropolis. In January this 12 months, Titagarh delivered the primary ‘made-in India’ driverless trainsets for the Yellow Line. Earlier than that, the primary prototype trainset arrived in February 2024 from China.

BMRCL managing director Maheshwara Rao has written to the CMRS requesting that the Yellow Line be inspected earlier than it may be opened up for industrial operations. BMRCL is planning to function the road with three trainsets at a frequency of 20-40 minutes, relying upon the ridership.
