The Revenue Tax division on Tuesday prolonged the due date for submitting ITRs for Evaluation 12 months (AY) 2025-26 to September 15 from July 31.
People and entities, who don’t have to get their accounts audited, are required to file revenue tax returns (ITR) by July 31.
In an announcement, the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) stated that in view of the intensive modifications launched within the notified ITRs, and contemplating the time required for system readiness and rollout of ITR utilities for AY 2025-26, the due date for submitting returns has been prolonged.
“To facilitate a clean and handy submitting expertise for taxpayers, it has been determined that the due date for submitting ITR, initially due on July 31, is prolonged to September 15, 2025,” the CBDT stated. PTI JD BAL
