Holding Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D Okay Shivakumar answerable for the stampede at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru that killed 11 folks, Union Minister H D Kumaraswamy Thursday demanded that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah sack Shivakumar from the Cupboard.

Kumaraswamy alleged that the ‘insensitive’ perspective of Shivakumar was on show after Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) arrived at Bengaluru Airport following their win within the Indian Premier League, through the felicitation at Vidhana Soudha and on the stadium. “He was craving publicity even when folks have been dying,” he informed reporters in Delhi.

He stated that Shivakumar acted as a ‘rowdy’ through the incident. “What was the need to carry the (felicitation) occasion on the grand stairs of Vidhana Soudha? The whole state authorities made it their household occasion. It was a present of dadagiri by the deputy CM. Even after figuring out that individuals had died, he participated within the occasion held contained in the stadium,” Kumaraswamy alleged.

BJP state president B Y Vijayendra stated that whilst TV channels have been reporting the deaths, the deputy chief minister was seen kissing the cup at Chinnaswamy Stadium. “What was the need of organising celebrations in entrance of Vidhana Soudha when an occasion was already deliberate on the Chinnaswamy Stadium. That’s their political agenda. We’re deeply damage. It’s as if our family members have died,” he stated.
