Former NITI Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant, who managed numerous assignments throughout his 45 years in authorities service, has resigned as G20 Sherpa Monday.
Kant, a retired 1980-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of Kerala cadre, was appointed as India’s G20 Sherpa in July 2022, months earlier than India assumed the G20 Presidency.

In a LinkedIn submit titled ‘My New Journey’ Kant mentioned: “After 45 years of devoted authorities service, I’ve made the choice to embrace new alternatives and transfer ahead in life. I’m extremely grateful to the Prime Minister of India for accepting my resignation as G20 Sherpa and for having given me the chance to drive a variety of developmental initiatives and contribute to the expansion, improvement, and progress of India.”
