Not less than 36 Amarnath pilgrims suffered minor accidents when 5 buses slammed into one another in Ramban district on Saturday, officers mentioned. The buses had been a part of a convoy headed for Pahalgam base camp in south Kashmir from Jammu’s Bhagwati Nagar. Whereas 4,226 pilgrims left in 161 autos for Nunwan base camp for the 48-kilometre conventional Pahalgam route, 2,753 pilgrims had been headed for the shorter however steeper 14-kilometre Baltal route in 151 autos.
