7th Pay Commission: Govt to revise minimum qualifying service norms for promotion of employees

The central authorities has determined to revise the norms of minimal eligibility service requirement for promotion of its staff in accordance with the seventh Central Pay Fee (CPC) Pay Matrix and Pay Ranges.

These announcement on this regard was made via an Workplace Memorandum (OM), dated September 20, by the Division of Personnel and Coaching (DoPT), mentioned Monetary Categorical in a report.

“The revised norms could also be included within the recruitment guidelines/service guidelines/by making appropriate amendments. All ministries/departments are requested to impact crucial amendments to the recruitment guidelines/service guidelines after following the due process,” the DoPT mentioned.

What are the brand new guidelines?

For promotion from Stage 1 to Stage 2, the minimal qualifying service wanted is 3 years, the revised norms stipulate. From Stage 2 to Stage 3 is 3 years, Stage 3 to Stage 4 is 8 years, Stage 3 to Stage 4 and Stage 4 to Stage 5 is 5 years every. In the meantime, shifting from Stage 6 to 11 will take the longest time: 12 years. For Stage 4 to Stage 6, Stage 6 to Stage 10, Stage 11 to Stage 13 the length is 10 years every, and 9 years for Stage 4 to Stage 11.

The DoPT memorandum additionally famous that the revisions are but to be formally carried out.
