‘We stand ready to support the investigation’: Boeing after AAIB releases Air India crash report | Business News

Hours after the preliminary investigation report of the Air India flight AI 171 crash in Ahmedabad that killed 260 individuals was launched, Boeing, in a press release, stated that it’ll proceed to supply all help required for the probe.

The preliminary report has revealed that the Boeing 787-8 plane’s engine gasoline management switches transitioned from ‘RUN’ to ‘CUTOFF’ place inside a second of one another moments after lift-off, resulting in the worst aviation catastrophe involving an Indian airline in 4 a long time. He added, “Boeing will defer to India’s Plane Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) to supply details about Air India Flight 171, in adherence with the United Nations Worldwide Civil Aviation Group protocol.”

Air India, too, acknowledged the report, saying that it was “working intently with stakeholders, together with regulators”. “Air India stands in solidarity with the households and people affected by the AI171 accident. We proceed to mourn the loss and are absolutely dedicated to offering help throughout this tough time,” the airline stated in a press release.

It added: “We acknowledge receipt of the preliminary report launched by the Plane Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) as we speak, 12 July 2025. Air India is working intently with stakeholders, together with regulators. We proceed to completely cooperate with the AAIB and different authorities as their investigation progresses. Given the energetic nature of the investigation, we’re unable to touch upon particular particulars and refer all such enquiries to the AAIB.”

In response to airline pilots and specialists, the motion of the gasoline management switches must be deliberate actions and their unintentional motion is subsequent to inconceivable. The switches have brackets on both facet to guard them.
