Karnataka Rural Growth and Panchayat Raj Minister Priyank Kharge Monday stated he was being held liable for another person’s mistake, and everybody accused of wrongdoing within the state was thought-about his aide.
He made this comment after photographs of him, his father and Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge with Lingaraj Kanni, a Congress employee from Kalaburagi who was arrested in Kalyan metropolis, had been shared on social media on Sunday.
The Maharashtra Police arrested Kanni together with three others final month beneath the Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Act for allegedly supplying 120 bottles of codeine-based cough syrup.
Responding to media queries, Priyank Kharge stated that the Congress wouldn’t defend Kanni’s crimes. “Now we have beneficial the district Congress unit to droop him from the social gathering,” he stated.
Kanni, he stated, was the president of the Kalaburagi South Block Congress. “He was a Congress office-bearer can’t be denied… Since he was within the social gathering, it’s regular that he shares the stage with me. Solely for that reason, he’s known as my aide,” Priyank Kharge stated.
“How is that everybody is my aide? Within the Bidar case, they (the BJP) alleged that the accused had been my aides. Within the Belagavi PDO case, the accused was thought-about my aide,” he stated, including that he was being held liable for another person’s mistake.
The Congress neither encourages nor accepts such actions, the Karnataka minister stated.

“If one thing occurs within the Kalyana Karnataka area, then Priyank Kharge is held accountable. If it occurs in Karnataka, I’m accountable. If it occurs in Kashmir or Canada, then too I’m accountable based on the BJP,” the Congress minister added.
The accused, Kanni, had joined the Congress from the BJP forward of the Meeting elections in 2023.
