Tripura BJP activists visit CPM ex-MP Sankar Prasad Datta to protest his Hanuman remark: ‘We’ll pray he gains knowledge’ | India News

The Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal protested in Agartala on Tuesday in opposition to an allegedly derogatory comment about Lord Hanuman made by former CPM MP Sankar Prasad Datta. They burned Datta in effigy and demanded that he apologise for the comment he allegedly made whereas talking at a CITU convention two days in the past.

“Just a few days again, the CPM chief known as Lord Hanuman ‘shonda’ (bully). Hanumanji is our deity. Protesting in opposition to this, we burnt his effigy. We are going to recite Hanuman Chalisa in entrance of his residence and we’ll compel him to hunt an apology in entrance of Hanumanji and God in our presence,” stated a VHP chief.

A bunch of BJP activists visited Datta’s residence and provided him a portrait of Lord Hanuman and Hanuman chalisa.
“They (CPM) have made derogatory remarks about Hindu faith on a number of events. The BJP brings out individuals from darkness to gentle. We got here to his home immediately with Hanuman Chalisa. We are going to pray that he beneficial properties information and should Lord Hanuman forgive him,” stated a BJP activist.

The BJP’s youth wing, the Tripura Pradesh Yuva Morcha, additionally protested in opposition to the comment within the capital metropolis.

“The whole state has condemned the incident. We demand Sankar Prasad Datta ought to be instantly arrested. Now we have seen earlier that they tried to harm our spiritual sentiments. After the rally, we’ll recite Hanuman chalisa close to the Kali temple at Melarmath,” a protester stated.

Datta or the CPM has not reacted to the controversy.
