Forward of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s go to to Bengaluru on Sunday, the Nationwide College students’ Union of India (NSUI), the youth wing of the Congress, alleged that senior leaders of their organisation had been put below ‘home arrest’ by the town police.

A police supply stated the cops detained NSUI leaders as they had been planning to protest over the alleged electoral malpractices lately highlighted by Congress chief Rahul Gandhi. “They needed to carry a protest when the prime minister was about to come back for the inauguration of the Yellow Line of Namma Metro,” the supply added.

The Bengaluru police reportedly put Lakshya Raj V, president, NSUI Bengaluru central district, Keethi Ganesh, state president, NSUI, and different leaders below ‘home arrest’.

“That is unacceptable in a democracy. The fitting to peaceable protest is assured by our Structure, and no authorities or police pressure has the authority to pre-emptively silence voices of dissent. Karnataka State Police & BENGALURU CITY POLICE @CPBlr, I urge you to instantly launch our NSUI leaders and be sure that our democratic rights are protected. Suppressing college students and youth is not going to silence the reality. We’ll proceed to face up for justice and for our Structure,” he added.
