Practically three months after they started courting, Spears and Federline exchanged vows in California in September 2004.
Throughout a 2005 interview with Ellen DeGeneres, the Poisonous singer stated she was the one who proposed to Federline.
“Truly, I used to be just a little rejected at first. I sort of obtained slapped down,” she recalled.
Her sentiment echoed Federline’s account, which stated they mentioned getting engaged after the European leg of her tour.
“There we had been, sitting in top notch, sipping cocktails, speaking about life, after which, bam, she was casually, or possibly not so casually, proposing to me,” he writes. “I sort of laughed it off, performed it cool, and informed her no.”
