The New York Publish uncovered the sale of things from Millea Bros. Auctioneers’ “choose” auctions, the newest of which included a “Palatial Viennese desk, ex Home of Liechtenstein” within the lot description.
It is described on the public sale home’s web page as “c. 1820, Austria-Hungary, map desk, the big rectangular prime on pedestal bases, every with 4 entrance to again drawers to every facet with molded pilaster dividers, brass escutcheons with rosette covers.”
The provenance is “Bought from J.P. Molyneux Studio, Paris in 2006; Home of Liechtenstein (by reputation),” with no point out of Epstein. The opening bid is $2,500, with an anticipated sale between $5,000 and $7,000.
The large desk was clearly seen in images of Epstein’s lounge at his 20,000 square-foot East 71st Avenue mansion, which was first raided by the feds in 2019 after the disgraced financier was indicted for allegedly intercourse trafficking minors.
