At the least 82 individuals have been killed and at the least two are lacking after a gasoline explosion at a coal mine in northern China on Sunday, officers say.
Surveillance footage aired by state media on Monday confirmed the second of the blast from inside Liushenyu Coal Mine in Shanxi province.
The incident is the worst mining catastrophe in China since 2009, and Chinese language President Xi Jinping mentioned no effort have to be spared within the search and rescue operation.
The reason for the gasoline explosion has not but been revealed, however state media reported that the degrees of carbon monoxide within the mine have been discovered to have “exceeded limits”.
