US launches strikes on Iran after tankers hit in Strait of Hormuz

The US has launched a sequence of “highly effective” strikes on Iran in response to assaults on three industrial vessels within the Strait of Hormuz.

US Central Command (Centcom) stated on Tuesday it had begun the assault, “to impose heavy prices for concentrating on and attacking industrial transport crewed by harmless people in a global waterway”.
