Retired army soldier run over by truck while trying to avoid pothole in Karnataka

A retired military soldier from Karnataka’s Mandya district was run over by a truck on Sunday night time after he reportedly misplaced management of his bike whereas making an attempt to keep away from a pothole, police stated on Monday.

Madya police recognized the deceased as Nayak Kumar SN (retd) (37), a resident Mandya.

Based on police, he was run over by a truck when he slipped off his bike in Mandya city on Sunday night time.

“We’ve registered a case towards the truck driver for rash and negligent driving. Investigation is on,” stated a senior police officer.

Former chief minister HD Kumaraswamy hit out on the Bharatiya Janata Social gathering (BJP)-led state authorities over Kumar’s loss of life. “The sequence of victims of potholes mendacity on the roads throughout the state could be very worrying. I’m deeply saddened by the loss of life of a retired soldier on the street in Mandya. Is there no answer for Karnataka’s poor roads?” he tweeted.

Lashing out on the administration for not appearing on repairing dangerous roads which have already claimed many lives, Kumaraswamy claimed that he had sanctioned a sum of ₹50 crore for the restore of roads, together with the place the accident passed off in Mandya Metropolis Municipal Council limits when he was the chief minister. “Sadly, the BJP authorities, after coming to energy, withdrew the allocation for political causes,” he alleged, in a sequence of tweets.

Kumar’s loss of life comes days after Umadevi,50, fell off a scooter and was run over by a bus in Rajajinagar space of Bengaluru. She was driving pillion on the scooter being pushed by her daughter Vanitha. She fell when Vanitha tried to swerve to keep away from a pothole and was run over by a state transport bus — sustaining extreme accidents to her head and legs, her daughter had stated.
