Sensex down 230 points, ends in red at 61,751; Nifty slides to 18,344

Fairness benchmark indices ended decrease on Thursday in step with weak world market tendencies.

The 30-share BSE Sensex declined 230.12 factors or 0.37 per cent to settle at 61,750.60. Through the day, it fell 337.45 factors or 0.54 per cent to 61,643.27.

The broader NSE Nifty dipped 65.75 factors or 0.36 per cent to finish at 18,343.90.

From the Sensex pack, Titan, Mahindra & Mahindra, Maruti, HDFC, Dr Reddy’s, Bajaj Finserv, Infosys, and HDFC Financial institution have been the main laggards.

Larsen & Toubro, Energy Grid, ICICI Financial institution and Bharti Airtel have been among the many winners.

Elsewhere in Asia, markets in Seoul, Tokyo, Shanghai and Hong Kong ended decrease.

Fairness exchanges in Europe have been buying and selling largely decrease within the afternoon session. Wall Avenue had ended within the detrimental territory on Wednesday.

Worldwide oil benchmark Brent crude was buying and selling 0.46 per cent decrease at USD 92.43 per barrel.

Overseas Institutional Buyers (FIIs) offloaded shares price ₹386.06 crore on Wednesday, as per change information.
