We have taken Mangaluru blast very seriously, police on high alert: CM Bommai | Bengaluru

Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Tuesday stated that the Karnataka police are alert about terror actions. He additionally stated that the police busted 18 terror sleeper cells within the state over a time period.

Talking to reporters on Tuesday, Bommai stated, “It’s best to know that the Karnataka police have busted 18 terror sleeper cells and despatched them to jail. They’re nonetheless on alert in regards to the terror actions within the state. The Nationwide Investigation Company (NIA) has initiated measures to trace the actions of terror organisations, be it worldwide or nationwide, which is behind the Mangaluru blast suspect. We’ve got taken this case very critically”

Bommai stated some individuals having connections with different states are conducting terror actions in Karnataka. The police have arrested these from different states as effectively, he added.

Extra Director Common of Police (Legislation and Order), Alok Kumar stated the police are looking for out the 24-year-old’s hyperlinks with individuals outdoors Karnataka. The accused Shariq, from Thirthahalli of Shivamogga district, was travelling in an autorickshaw with a strain cooker fitted with a detonator, wires and batteries, when it exploded on the outskirts of Mangaluru on Saturday. He suffered burn accidents, is presently being handled in a metropolis hospital. The Karnataka police termed the explosion “an act of terror” with the intention to trigger critical injury. They’re probing the incident together with central companies.
