Mysuru Dasara elephant ‘Gopalaswamy’ dies in a fight, CM Bommai mourns the death | Bengaluru

Karnataka chief minister Basavaraj Bommai on Thursday mourned the loss of life of Gopalaswamy – a well-liked elephant a part of Dasara celebrations in Mysuru. Gopalaswamy died Wednesdayfrom accidents sustained in a combat with one other elephant in Mysuru’s Hunsur.

Bommai tweeted, “Gopalaswamy, who has beenparticipating within the world-famous Mysore Dussehra Jumbo Savari procession, died in a combat with a wild beast at Mattigodu camp in Hunsur. I pray for the soul of Gajaraj. Om Shanti.”

In line with media experiences, Gopalaswamy encountered a wild tusker Tuesday morning and he suffered a number of accidents within the combat that adopted.

Although his caretakers tried to intervene and separate the elephants, the combat escalated and the therapy given to Gopalswamy after the combat went in useless.

The elephant had a number of fractures which prompted inside bleeding. “We tried our greatest to avoid wasting Gopalaswamy however we misplaced him on Wednesday afternoon,” a forest official advised an area information channel.

The 39-year-old tusker has been taking part in Mysuru Dasara celebrations for the previous few years. Goapalaswamy was captured from Hethur forest area atKarnataka’s Haasan district in 2009 and he was placedat Mattigodu camp in Kodagu district.
