Days after the headmaster of a authorities highschool in Karnataka was heckled by activists of Sri Rama Sene for holding an essay competitors on Prophet Muhammed, the state authorities suspended the headmaster on Thursday.
Abdul Munafar Bijapur, headmaster of Authorities Excessive College in Nagavi village in Gadag district, was suspended by the division of public instruction. Further Commissioner, division of public instruction, Sidramappa S Biradara issued the suspension order for holding the essay competitors with none course from the division or any authorities company.
Bijapur, who has 28 years of expertise in instructing, had been working within the faculty for the final three years.
The college has 172 college students of Lessons VIII to X and round 43 college students had taken half within the essay competitors. The prize cash for the competitors was Rs 5,000 for the winner and Rs 2,500 for the runner-up.
The division of public instruction stated that the suspension order was issued because the headmaster had dedicated a mistake “being able of duty” and added that the allegations have been prima facie proved within the inquiry. The suspension order was issued after Deputy Director of Public Instruction of Gadag district G M Basavalingappa had written a letter to the authorities.
Bijapur had defended himself by saying that they’d performed an essay competitors as a way to enhance the handwriting among the many college students and it was routine. “Each month there are no less than one or two occasions held the place we conduct competitions. We’ve got held programmes and essay competitions on Kanaka Dasa, Purandara Dasa and different personalities too up to now. These essay competitions are held to introduce the scholars to those personalities and to assist them enhance their handwriting,” he had stated.
