NHAI floats tender for Vijayawada-Bengaluru expressway, travel in 6 hrs: Report | Bengaluru

Frequent travellers between India’s silicon valley Bengaluru and Andhra Pradesh’s Vijayawada are in for excellent news. Work is all set to start on the Vijayawada-Bengaluru expressway for which the Nationwide Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has invited bids. The expressway, additionally known as the BKV (Bangalore-Kadapa-Vijayawada) expressway, will scale back journey time between the 2 cities by 50 per cent from 12 hours on the prevailing route to only 6 hours.

The six-lane expressway can be 342 kilometres lengthy and can price round ₹19,200 crore, The Financial Instances reported. The proposal for the undertaking has been cleared promptly by Union Minister of Highway Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari. The state authorities in Andhra Pradesh is all set to accumulate land to start building.

The NHAI is finishing up the undertaking in 14 packages, of which it has invited bids for 4, below the Hybrid Annuity Mannequin (HAM). The mannequin permits the NHAI to pay 40 per cent of the entire expenditure, to be launched in ten equal installments, whereas the remaining 60 per cent must be organized by the contractor.

The undertaking is being constructed below Bharatmala Pariyojana (BMP) Section-2, and connects Bengaluru with Andhra Pradesh’s Rayalaseema space.

The expressway may also contact cities similar to Kodikonda, Pulivendula, Mallepali, Vangapadu, Addanki, Chilakaluripet and Guntur. If all goes in keeping with schedule, the expressway is predicted to be opened for public use by 2025 – 2026.
