Monuments in Karnataka’s Hampi illuminated with the G-20 logo | See pics | Bengaluru

Monuments and heritage websites in Karnataka’s Hampi have been lit up with the G-20 emblem after India assumed presidency of G-20 on December 1. Officers determined to mark the passing of the gavel by illuminating hundred world heritage websites and centrally-protected monuments throughout the nation.

The G-20 is an intergovernmental discussion board consisting of 19 international locations and the European Union (EU), to deal with world points resembling local weather change, sustainable growth, world-wide financial system and plenty of extra. Over 200 conferences are anticipated to be held throughout 55 places in India.

A number of monuments and websites have been lit up with the G-20 emblem on Thursday, and Karnataka’s Hampi was one in all them. Photos of the illuminated monuments in Hampi have been shared on social media.

“ASI welcomes the G-20 delegates to India. A Glimpse of illuminated monuments lit up in G-20 Emblem throughout the nation,” the Archaeological Survey of India tweeted, and shared photos of the Virupaksha temple in Hampi, together with a number of others.

Hampi, a UNESCO world heritage website, is a city with historic significance because it was as soon as the capital metropolis of the Vijayanagara empire. It hosts well-known websites just like the stone chariot, Vittala temple, Hemakuta hills, Anjanadri hills, the Virupaksha temple, amongst others.

Different websites within the record of 100 shortlisted monuments for illumination with the G-20 emblem included Tipu Sultan’s Palace and the Gol Gumbaz in Karnataka, Humayun’s Tomb and Purana Quila in Delhi, Modhera Solar Temple in Gujarat, Konark Solar Temple in Odisha, Sher Shah Suri’s Tomb in Bihar, and so forth.
