Woman sets two daughters on fire in Kolar, held: Police | Bengaluru

Police arrested a girl for allegedly setting ablaze her two daughters over a household dispute atop Anjanadri hill within the Mulabagilu city of Kolar district on Wednesday, officers stated on Friday.

The girl, recognized as Jyoti, hailed from Kurubanahalli in Ramasamudram in Andhra Pradesh and had come together with her youngsters to Kolar to die by suicide, the police stated.

In accordance with the police, the girl set her youngsters on fireplace on Wednesday morning. One of many daughters, an 8-year-old, died on the spot, whereas one other, a 6-year-old, suffered severe burn accidents.

The injured youngster was first admitted on the Mulabagilu Authorities Hospital, after which she was shifted to Victoria hospital in Bengaluru. She succumbed to her accidents on Thursday.

“The girl reached the hilltop and first set her youngsters on fireplace utilizing petrol. She was about to set herself ablaze however was stopped by locals,” the police stated.

The police visited the place after receiving info from the villagers. The girl has been taken into custody, and her husband, Tirumalesh, is being interrogated, the police added.

The police have registered a case beneath part 302 of IPC (try and homicide) in opposition to the girl.
