Electrical poles have appeared in the course of Bengaluru streets and images of those poles have been extensively shared on-line by irate locals.
A residents’ group known as Namma Belagere tweeted photos of the poles and wrote, “That is how road-widening work takes place in Balagere… electrical poles in (the) center of the highway… inviting accidents to occur… what’s the justification” and tagged officers from the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike, the native MLA and even chief minister Basavaraj Bommai.
Twitter customers expressed their concern; one person wrote, “That is very harmful, will u take accountability if somebody dies bcos they hit the pole or will get electrocuted, lack of planning, the permissions ought to have been taken earlier than beginning the work, that is perennial drawback with this govt, begin work then cease work as a result of no permission…”
Officers have responded explaining that the choice was a ‘aware choice’ to finish some work whereas the climate stays dry.
