Cong’s Muslim leaders in Karnataka push for more tickets | Bengaluru

Congress’ Muslim leaders in Karnataka on Tuesday determined to ask the social gathering for extra tickets to candidates belonging to the group, within the Meeting polls scheduled by April-Might subsequent yr. This was determined at a gathering of leaders from the minority group, which included- former Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Okay Rahman Khan, KPCC working president Saleem Ahmed, former ministers UT Khader, Tanveer Sait, B Z Zameer Ahmed Khan, Rahim Khan, former MP IG Sanadi, MLC Naseer Ahmed, amongst others.

Noting that the Congress has acquired 100 purposes from minority communities searching for tickets, principally Muslims, Saleem Ahmed stated, “We are going to scrutinise and provides a listing to the social gathering. Winnability would be the standards. Wherever there’s a likelihood to win, we’ll push for tickets to be given to minorities.”

Within the 2018 Meeting election, the Congress had given tickets to 17 Muslim candidates, of whom seven had received. The assembly determined to carry 5 conventions of minorities and backward courses collectively in January, geared toward organising the social gathering.

Additional alleging that minority voters are being deleted from electoral rolls, and calling it a “conspiracy”, Saleem Ahmed stated, “Voters are being shifted to completely different homes and cubicles, such irregularities have been present in Bidar, Vijayapura and Hubballi, apart from Bengaluru.”

To a query on JD(S), SDPI and AIMIM eyeing Muslim votes, he stated, voters are clever and are conscious that the true contest is between the Congress and BJP. “….we’re assured they are going to be with us.”
