48th GST Council meet begins; decriminalisation, tax evasion among issues to be discussed

The forty-eighth assembly of the Items and Companies Tax (GST) Council started in New Delhi on Saturday morning, and is being chaired by Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman.

Tax charges, guidelines, and laws below GST are ruled by the Council, which consists of the Finance minister, and her counterparts from states and UTs.
